When I
started doing outside broadcasts I began collecting high
quality mixing desks and mics, proper stereo BBC PPMs, and
all sorts of other interesting boxes. I started setting
this up at home occasionally and then realised that I was
on my way to a pretty good edit suite. I added Neumann
microphones, PMC loudspeakers and a Protools 002 editing
system, moved to a larger house and I was away. Over the
years I’ve refined it into a very efficient setup in its
own right. I’ve mixed albums, audio for music videos,
animations and short films, and regularly make radio
dramas, documentaries and mix panel shows here.
