I started providing outside broadcast and location recording facilities in 2001. Having spent years doing OBs for other people with large trucks, massive mixing desks, heavy tape machines and huge loudspeakers I thought there must be a more efficient way.
I do things a bit differently. Firstly, all of my equipment is very high quality, small and light enough to carry around easily. And secondly, I only take equipment to a job if I think there is a chance I might need it. So you won’t find me taking MIDI keyboards to a current affairs recording or lapel mics to a comedy show (unless there’s a good reason of course). So I can charge a fraction of what most OB companies cost and yet the quality is the same or better.
The equipment for any given job will fit into a regular car, so there’s no truck parking spaces or permits to be organized, no rigger/ drivers to pay and only a couple of hours needed between walking through the door and pressing the record button. De-rig virtually never takes more than 45 minutes and venue bookings can be significantly shorter, saving you yet more money.
I can provide anything from single mic mono recordings all the way through to complex 24 track multitrack recordings. Ask and it will be done.

My regular clients include Avalon TV, Smooth Operations, Sweet Talk Productions, Testbed productions, City Broadcasting and Pier Productions.

Great Scott. A musical extravaganza from the slightly warped mind of Guardian cartoonist Steve Bell. Scott goes on one of the most famous adventures in British history. It didn't go well. I blame the mutinous penguins and pole-dancing huskies. Everything you hear here was recorded live in front of a rowdy Brighton audience direct to 20 tracks of Protools, with me also dropping in all the sound effects on cue. Everything was then transferred to my studio for fine mixing and mastering.
